The only cliffside spring wedding inspo you'll need in 2025

A dream of spring and color in Black Water, Missouri

Cassidy and Conner's wedding day was a burst of love and color. Every detail from the flowers to the veil to the cuff links were put together with so much love and care. These two crafted the most loving wedding day, and everywhere I looked seeped springtime. Cassidy and Connor's wedding day is sure to inspire your springtime celebration.

I had known how much thought these two had put into their wedding from the very beginning. On our first call when she described the vision they were going for I knew it was going to be a day to remember.

It was late April

There was still a chill outside. Their venue, Wildcliff Events, was out in Black Water, MO. I had never visited this venue or really been out that way in general, so I was free of really any expectations. But never the less, I got butterflies as I always do before documenting a wedding day. But when I pulled up to their venue all worries disappeared. The land was so green, despite it only being the beginning of Spring. Everywhere I looked the space became more and more expansive. It was all surrounding and cascaded by nature and the blue lake.

And then I laid my eyes the main event, the cliffs.

I had seen done some research on the venue, as I normally do. I was aware of how large the cliffs would be, but in person it created a whole different experience. Totally immersive. It drew me in. I couldn't wait to capture the ceremony.

I then decided I would search around for where the girls were getting ready. Which inevitably didn't take too long, once I figured out where the Taylor Swift songs were coming from. This was exciting because I too am a fellow Swiftie and to hear them blasting her new album that had just come out the previous day meant we were all going to get along great.

I walked in to see the girls getting ready and celebrating together. It was clear that Cassidy was surrounded by a loving group of friends and I felt welcomed in the minute I stepped through the door.

Cassidy then got her dress on with the help of her bridesmaids. And her niece who was super excited to help.

The girls took it easy and relaxed while I went to find the guys.

Cassidy had mentioned that the guys would be getting ready in a man cave. Which seemed like a typical thing to expect for the groomsmen on a wedding day, so I didn't think much of it. And when I didn't seem surprised she explained further.

"No no, I don't think you understand, they are in a literal man cave, carved into the side of the cliff."

Which meant the only next possible question to that statement was "...And how exactly do I get up there?"

Cut to 5 minutes later the groomsmen are using a rope to pull us across the lake on a floating dock to a narrow ladder that they had mentioned would ascend us into the man cave.

And when I climbed to the top of the ladder, I realized this would take the cake for the most unique location I've seen for a getting ready space.

We were indeed in the side of the cliff, looking over the venue space across the water. It had a perfect view of the ceremony. All the empty seats in the distance just building the anticipation further.

Conner finished getting ready. He threw on his jacket, adjusted his cuff links (which had custom engravings of their dogs faces, a gift from Cassidy and a surprise to him), and he was ready to go.

The guys grabbed their drinks, climbed down the ladder, and found their way to the floating dock. The timeline was starting to factor in because Cassidy was ready and we had a first look to get to.

Once we made it to land, their photographer, Morgan, and I got Conner set up to see his soon to be wife.

They shared their first look together, it was so perfect and special. They then shared their vows with one another, but rather than the traditional way of reading them aloud to each other, they decided to swap vows books and read them privately to themselves. It was a special and intimate, unique moment I know they'll forever cherish.

The flower girl may cherish the moment forever too...

We were then off to capture the wedding party all together to celebrate the two of them. We explored the venue and spent some fun time together documenting so many candid moments.

And before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony.

Cassidy and Conner said "I do" in front of the breathtaking cliffs and all their closest friends and family.

One thing about their day that I'll never forget was watching all the little moments Cassidy spent with her grandparents. She had mentioned to me on our planning call that she was close with them so I kept an eye out for any opportunity to observe them. And I got to capture some of the sweetest moments. I even got to get a better look at her veil that her grandmother hand beaded two paw prints onto. It was precious.

After all the guests were headed to the reception space, we decided to get some more portraits of Cassidy and Conner around the venue.

I knew right away we needed to recreate the iconic shot of Taylor Swift running to Post Malone in the Fortnite music video. Since we were both fans and still obsessing over the music video it just made sense.

Next we headed to the reception space. Cassidy and Conner needed to grab some things in their hotel that was right across the street but when we walked in I realized this wasn't a regular hotel, it was the most adorable, quant little cottage. We had to grab some portraits in there before rushing off to their grand entrance!

When we walked into the reception I was excited to find even more lovely details, like the cake that Cassidy made herself and even the bouquet that she dedicated to her mom. They really thought of everything.

The rest of the night was spent enjoying good food and dancing the night away. Their wedding day was so special and one I will never forget.

Congrats to you two!!
